Today (October 31) we had a CLASS PARTY! In school they always had parties for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, etc., and obviously the girls loved them. I thought it would be fun for them to have a party at home too.
Before the party began–or I should say–before the girls knew we were going to have a party, Sera spent 45 minutes reading Charlotte’s Web to Amelie. It is such a treasure to see them cuddled on the chair together sharing a good book.
Later in the morning, I turned on silly music, got our pumpkins out, and we started our party. We carved pumpkins and constructed Halloween costumes, so even though today was a “party,” it was also largely dedicated to Arts and Crafts. During pumpkin carving, I introduced the girls to The Munsters, and we also watched Freaky Friday. We even ate typical class party fare: Pizza and candy! We had so much fun.
Later in the evening they got into their costumes and we met our dear friends for our FIFTH year of trick-or-treating together. Despite gail force winds and a tornado watch, we made it safely through the neighborhood and back again, candy in tow.
