Today we had the privilege of watching my niece Clarity TEAR IT UP on stage as the Wicked Witch of the West in her school’s performance of The Wizard of Oz.
Clarity is so special to us, not only because she is our niece, but because she is Sera’s first and best friend. It is a rare gift for Sera and Amelie to have girl cousins their age that live so near.
Chattanooga is a 2 hour trip, and Clarity’s play started at 9am eastern time. We are on central time, here in Nashville. That means we were up before dawn to trek across the icy roads, up over the mountain, and down to Chatty. It was SO very worth it. The weather in Chattanooga was beautiful, and Clarity was absolutely amazing.
After the performance, we all ate lunch together. My sister Marlaina met us there with her daughter Morgan. It was such a fun afternoon.
Marlaina and I were saying goodbye, but as it often goes with sisters, we ended up engrossed in deep conversation standing by our cars. We realized we hadn’t heard the girls for awhile and looked over to see this:
Leave it to these girls–in the middle of suburbia, they still find trees to climb!
We had to leave right after lunch to get back home to attend Ash Wednesday service, but the time together was still so sweet!
